By way of comparison, the blank monitor in front is a 20" flatscreen. I was over at Best Buy looking at 22 and 24 inch monitors, but they were $400-$500 and all looked a bit blurry. This 32" LCD TV was on an end cap. Normally $1200, or up to $3000 elsewhere, this was an "Open box" item (returned) and I got it for $600. This meant it had no manufacturer warrantee, so I deviated from my usual habit and got the store warrantee for $100. I don't have it connected in HD yet, just digital, so it's a hair fuzzy, but you can see how big it is. If it doesn't work out as a computer monitor it will replace my 20" bedroom TV.
That's my 9x12 Wacom to the right, on top of my scanner, and my color laserjet printer is over to the left.

Is this just an artifact of the camera used to take the picture, or is the lower right portion of that television cracked or something? The plastic there looks a little strange. An yes, I agree that small LCD televisions also work well for monitors.. I swear by LG LCDs when I can't afford Sharp aquos tvs. My desktop is using a 37" LG right now as it's 'monitor'. Freaky when stuff in second life is almost displayed life-size... O.O
Oh, don't be fooled! Our 20.1s are still huge. Just... not as huge compared to TVs ._.
However, seeing as resolution is the primary driving factor for computer displays, and not sheer size (unless you browse FA from 20 feet away?), TVs simply can't match what a good 24" display can do. So don't feel too under-equipped :3

Yes, you do, but they are not for "that". I had just gotten back from a trip and I had an allergy attack there. You will also note what looks like a washcloth, which is what I use for a handkerchief. My allergies aren't severe but I do sneeze a few times some days, sometimes a bunch of times, and I go through a lot of handkerchiefs. And tissues.
