Joe Kubert School 2nd Year Animation; intermediate storyboarding class assignment from '06.
The storyboarding class and Character design were on the same day and taught by the same instructor, as were most of the animation classes, they were more two conjoined classes per day than separate. Anyhow, the first storyboarding assignments were to familiarize us with cinematic storyboarding terminology (IE Closeups, Medium Shots, Establishing Shots, POV, Zoom in & Out, etc.) and we had to use the same characters we made for our Character design class, which I also posted here. It's pretty primitive looking, actually, compared to how much I've improved in storyboarding narrative, but I think it's important to post older, shabbier art so when you post newer art people can compare and see how and where you improve. Also, I NEVER make lines anywhere near that scratchy anymore. I pretty much had to force myself out of that habit the rest of that year so I could be more suited to make animation.
