This is a WIP shot of a commission for the illustrious and fabulous
narsassus
So I've been working really hard on this, and just about every step has been like pulling teeth, and I THINK THAT IS GREAT. I have not challenged myself this hard with a commission in a very long time, and possibly never. But LOOK AT IT. IT WILL BE MY BEST WORK SO FAR, and I feel it will really help prepare me for other upcoming BIG ILLUSTRATIONS.
It's not done, obviously, but I wanted to post a WIP for a couple of reasons. One of which is that I am just SUPER PUMPED ABOUT IT and I want to share my progress and struggles with you all so WE CAN ALL BE PUMPED TOGETHER.
The other reason is that I want to welcome any tips, tricks or advice that you can give on that backdrop. There will be more detail and shading/lighting, and there will be a tree in a planter in the back peeking up over that concrete wall, and there will be clouds and a sun in the sky. So I know it's hard to give advice on something that isn't finished yet, because you can't read my mind. But I wanted to get as much critique as possible at a stage where I can actually incorporate it into the piece.
The other reason I'm posting this now, and admittedly this is the biggest reason, is that my existing computer hardware is literally too limited for me to do any more work on this. I'm going out today to buy MORE RAM for my poor computer so that I can really pump up the quality and magnitude of my work in general, and finish this piece in particular!

AAAAHH THANK YOU. ;u; I am super excited to finish it, it's waaaay more intense than anything else I've done up until now, so I'm hoping it blows a few minds when I post up the finished piece. c:
Do you think the concrete wall translates as an actual wall? Or does it look really flat to you?

Thank you for giving me the opportunity! <3 I really couldn't have done it otherwise, and this is going to be the sort of piece that I would feel confident showing in a portfolio to like, big gaming companies. It will be on that scale, and that's not something I get to push myself for very often. I really can't thank you enough for your patience and the incredible freedom you are giving me to just REALLY blow this one out of the water.
GRAFFITI YES. FOR SURE. WHOA. It definitely needs graffiti, you are completely right oh my gosh. <3
A powerline I'm not sure about, but I like the idea. I'll have to see how it looks once the tree is in there, and then if there's still room without making it look cluttered, I can totally stick a powerline in there.
