Lyle's heart is like a dam. He blocks his pain by acting like a selfish dick and his real emotions build up on the other side. He has no idea how to maintain his friendships or fix anything and eventually, the dam will break and his true emotions will come like a roaring wave. And Misty will most likely be there to see it.
There are three possible fates with this man:
A) He might see that man at a bar again from the last comic before Dutch's hiatus and seek advice on how to make things right again, tying that sequence all together
B) He might move out of town and start a new life completely on his own and be written out of the story
C) He might end up killing himself in a similar fashion to Layne Staley of Alice in Chains.
Guess we'll have to wait to find out.

I think sharing Layne Staley's fate would be more fitting. after all, he's a musician, really thin and probably an alcoholic. the most haunting thing in the world is to see a body next to broken beer bottles and empty pill bottles and the only thing that's alive is a flickering tv that shows the walking dead. kinda teaches people a lesson to let go and forgive people while you still can. one day they may no longer be here...
but it's up to you really. i know how you like to twist things around and surprise us in ways we don't expect.
by the way, was Lyle really planning something with that guy in the bar before Jules was killed? That storyline seems... unfinished.
