It is sculpted into an otter. It is 90% silver, the other 10% is a few metals to make it more durable and resist tarnish.

Just showing, as it is the first I've made. I will be taking a mold and adding more details for a few future pieces, though.

I'd have to talk to some of the people I know that do jewelry professionally for a price estimate, though.

I was considering $50, due to the amount of work and the fact that this one is a full ounce of silver. If I did make it in gold I would have to charge before making due to how expensive that would be.

I was thinking of making other animals anyways, so I can certainly try. Dunno when I'd be able to finish something, though, because the workshop I go to is closing for a little bit after the end of next week.

I live in an apartment, no garage or office space to work with. Could definitely start saving some money though, if I started selling them, then use it to rent out a detached garage.

I have a silver otter ring (took forever to find). I've had it for several years and just cleaned it a couple days ago. While it looks new and shiny, I regret doing it because it removed all the stuff that had collected in the tiny crevasses and brought out detail. So while shiny, cleaning it actually obscured the otter.

Your necklace looks like it has a lot of detail too. It's a shame I can't see it all in such a brand new condition as this.

There's actually a way to fill in the creases. Forget what the stuff is called though.
And yes, there's a ton of little fur marks I put on it. I am jealous that you found an otter ring, though. It's so impossible to find otter jewelry.

I live by the Monterey Bay Aquarium and they have sea otter earrings all the time and the odd necklace, but never rings. I stumbled across mine at a jewelry vendor at a local festival.
