"How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?"
*chomps it* >=3
"The world may never know..."
haha, how many ppl remember dat commercial? XD
just a little humor picture, and trying to use the same methods in my last pic with the shading and color variations and stuff...
tho, i think this one looks too simplistic for some reason... =/
even tho there is details, it do not seem like it... not much for 4 hours of work =P
also, u can tell i used my right hand for this, there is a little too much fish-eye on the right side, it is all leaning...
tried to add a tummy line too, but dunno if it really works here or not...
a little bit different styling too... haha, i am very inconsistant on the style... sometime big head, sometimes not, sometimes big ears, sometimes not... dat is what vary mostly i think... i usually always have a big tail... anyways...
this pic is a little bigger than the last one if u full view =3
what u think?

ok 1: absolutely love that expression
2: hehe ya i remember the owl and the tootsie pop commercial used to love that candy too when I was still an eevee.
3: even though it was origionally an owl, I think you look better at this so maybe they will pay you to replace said owl and make retro style commercials?
4: im really not too sure about stuff like fish eye or technical art terms, but what I do see is a neat perspective with you standing at an angle and the way you drew it aided the perception to me of you standing at that angle, the only odd thing MAYBE is your right cheek?
5: *fav*

um, its dat my right cheek, or on the picture right side? ^^;
well the fish-eye is a bending of lines, to make something look very close of far away...
example of fish-eye: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/853407/
it is sorta like looking thru the peep hole in a door...
thank u very much of point #5!! ^_^

ah, well i think i see what u mean... well it really depends on what angle your seeing my face from... the closer my nose is to the outline edge, the narrower my face will appear on dat side... likewise, the rounder it will be on the other... i can try to sketch u a example if u want... i has a hard time explaining complex thing like dat ^^;
Who doesn't like Tootsie pop, it's such an awesome candy, and who doesn't like their owl mascot too; cute picture, I find it interesting that I can actually think "that's puz" considering your pikachu has not many especial markings.. yet it's still identificable somehow... Super especial-personal-chest-fur I guess?
haha, i dunno ^^;
mebbe the eyes or big tail? oh, i have very specific colors, mebbe dat is how =3
(in my gallery pictures, the base colors is always the exact same, i keep them save in hexadecimal color format for perfect consistent colors)
thank u very much, and i am very glad u can recognize me as Puzzy, i have been wishing to have myself styling well enuff to be identify as Puzzy Pikachu ^_^
your comment makes me very happy! =D

Oh gosh! I remember this commercial too! X3
Nothing simple about it, it's just very cute haha! ^_^
I remember that commercial where Mr. Owl would take three licks and literally bite the pop on the third ! XD
Simply amazing job I love your colors here and the eyes look superb, gosh you're scaring me in your improvement! ^^;

BGs are secondary my lad, that's why I need a ref for EVERYTHING, especially bgs, although sometimes I come up with a random bg with trees and skies and stuff. Don't worry though, you got the point across and that's what is most important.
Who criticized your beds btw? It was PERFECT. I'm also sorry for my comment on the candy stand ...

the bed was the wrong size cuz i am way too big on it =<
and i dont want my BGs to be so cruddy, dat is why i tries so hard to make them good, but they are still cruddy =<
a BG is still very important... it does not matter if my pika self looks like a real one dat just had a picture taken, if the BG looks bad, it makes the whole picture look bad, including my character...

First, you're being way too hard on yourself, it's not like messing up on your arm anatomy or the shading or part of a facial expression. Second, your BGs are not cruddy, EVERYONE struggles with making good BGs, even the pros, sometimes there is no need for a decent BG if the message is loud and clear. Practice is all, and I'm sure you're not that far from your goal when your worries are only the BGs. You've got awesome art my friend!
well, i think he gave up on kicking me out, but he is gonna encourage me by charging high rent <_<;;
...or throwing away all my stuff... and i dont just have junk, my stuff is worth some very big moolah... well, most of it is worth a fair amount, but i have some nice items too...

Pretty AMAZING job!!
I do remember the commercial!!
You did great on the proportions, perspective, details, colors and even SHADING!!
Honestly at first impression I saw that the mobile candystand as a wall with the words CANE on it, I know CANE might have no relationship with he whole pic but that was my first impression.
Now that I know it's a mobile candystand I can imagine it.

scientific studies have been done to try and answer this question.
both the university of Purdue and the university of Michigan had teams that built licking machines, their results are on a webpage in the tootsie pop website (http://www.tootsie.com/gal_machine.php)
also according to the website: "Estimates from children seem to run from a low of 100 licks to a high of 5,800 licks, with most of them ranging from 600-800 licks." (http://www.tootsie.com/comp_faq.php)
the number of licks required varies due to factors that are listed here: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_....._a_tootsie_pop
they are:
acidity of saliva
coarseness of the tongue
how much amylase (enzymes) you have in your mouth
and even if its the same person doing it over again it cans still vary because...
* Pressure per square inch the tongue is applied to the surface of the tootsie pop (TP)
* The average amount of square inch in contact between tongue and TP
* At what measurement from the center of the stick of the TP at which you declare that you have reached the center of the TP.
* The rotation factor of the TP - if the eater continues to lick one specific portion only to reach the center faster - or if licks are distributed evenly around the outer surface area of TP.
even the ambient temperature, the person's hunger, their tounge size and their boredom levels may affect the number of licks
