They're part of her reproductive anatomy. They're life crystals. This allows them to reproduce with absolutely any species, regardless of the sex of the other creature (including asexuals/or null gendered individuals). She's got one on each shoulder and the backs of her hands.

Well that seems pretty usefull ! And does it create hybrids when she reproduces with other species ? It might be pretty cool

I'm having a hard time deciding that! This species is "invisible" until they mate with their soulmate for the first time, after which they become "whole". If they were to mate with another species, would their offspring be invisible too? Or would they just retain the appearance but not anything else?

Idk, I came up with them on a whim without much logic and I'm trying to turn them into a real species but lol its hard

Eh, well when you create a species that can reproduce with any other species, it's obviously hard to know which features they will keep or not, and at what point it will be modified ! An interesting problem all in all And I love the idea of the "invisibility" until they find true love !
Maybe these kind of hybrids wouldn't be able to reproduce, or only with a species of their parents ? Yeah, hard to know indeed x)
