The city lays broken by the quake, looters fill the streets and the police have instigated martial law.
Tommy and his friends have to help dig V-town, one of the last bastions of civilization, back out from under the rubble.
Everyone has plans for Tommy. Some see him as a saviour, others a pawn, others nothing more than a spoiled brat. He's going to have to bring everyone to the table if they hope to survive.
Tommy discovers that not everyone working against him is necessarily evil.

Well it sounds like Rebecca has found her self a job as a hunter at Storm Front after the election is over. Why do I have the feeling that she'd surprise more than a few folks with her blades.
Why do I also have a feeling that Amythyst is about to be adopted by a new mistress.....

Hehe. I'll have to pull out one of the later books and check.
Molly isn't the type of girl to want her man to help pay the bills. She's the type of girl who wants her man to pay all the bills! And hopefully have enough left over at the end to put her into the life in which she'd like to become accustomed...

Well perhaps he could become the personal assistant to the hunters Alpha. He is more than a physical match for any of the hunters but his submissive traits would easily remove him as a treat to Griss.
Or maybe English could give him a job, not hunting I don't think he has the personality for that but I do think he could be one heck of a guard in the lock-up at Storm Front.
Or better yet, the police department would be civil service and they would have to accept applications from all qualified applicants. He could be assigned to the mayors guard detail. Maybe then they could deal with the bears that West likes to bring along.

Yay for progress~ I'm glad Jon is back in the picture, but whereas I found Sayer to be an good character before, I resent him now for denying Jon any sense of family.
Poor Amyst, he's so cute
Great chapter as always. I'm particularly impressed by how much Tommy's character has fleshed out in these chapters. The Open party's morals and beliefs are his morals and beliefs, so the simple answer is that he should just do what he's always done (except publicly and with less bloodshed)

Hmm... 'progress' or 'Progress'?
Sayer is a bit of a bugger. He always does what he thinks is right, but his definitions of right and wrong have been warped by his involvement in the purge.
Hehe. I always said Amstys gets a happy ending.
Thanks. Coming up will be Tommy's experience with public speaking. One of the only times I do some (attempted) political satire.
