Nai-chan- Pencil test
DA / TUMBLR/ PICARTO / PATREON / WEB COMIC
So recently I found a stash of old color pencils i had been gifted and decided to get them their own awesome pencil case ^^~ There nice case made them so much more fun to use that i went on an art supplies organizing rampage! XD
I dont know if you guys get this too but, Birthdays and Christmas I always get gifts of amazing quality art supplies ^w^. Problem is, i'm prone to only use the shitty old stuff i'm familiar with, so new stuff stays in their boxes kinda going to waste. ^^;
It took ages, but now my collection of art supplies is sorted together by media type. (like the oil pastels are all in one box and color sorted rather than in several separate boxes taking up space.) They now live in a three tier drawer that makes them way easy to access.
I didn't realize how much cool stuff i had, but now that its organized im REALLY excited about playing with my art toys >w<~~~ When sorting i found a ton of watercolor paints, gauche, oil pastels, copic and pro-markers, a full range of graphite pencils, all sorts of clays, a hand full of acrylic paints, and even some colored inks addition to all my color pencils~
There were 6 different brands of color pencils and aquarelle all together, so i drew this to test the classic color pencils. Its not that amazing, and i wish my scanner handled trad-color better, but im trying to get into the habit of uploading pictures again, so here one is!
i bet lots of my fans didn't know i loved to work in traditional~ But heres a little color pencil test picture ^^
(Some other traditional pictures i did YEARS ago ~^^~)

I stopped doing traditional color when i put up the studio, but it used to be my preferred way to work~ <3But I just cant do traditional pieces commercially, so they got tucked away. I don't want to sell my originals, and they take too long to do as commissions to keep the prices reasonable. But who knows, if Corals working to let me be a full time mom, I could take up traditional art as a hobby again ^^ ~
Ps. New journal update for my commissioners.

Indeed~ But when IRL calls we all must respond~ In addition to all the other crap happening, I was technically supposed to be moving out of my house right now. >> Im still not 100% sure whats happning with that, but Coral has said i can just focus on commissions and he'll handle the technicals~ *has been enjoying having someone take care of her*
I only recently got the hang of watercolor pencils cause a friend lent me an amazing book on how to use them. I loved them before but now that i know that i was doing it all wrong im not surprised i stopped using them XD!!!
This is that book BTW~ I recommend it if you like water color pencils~ *nod nod nod*

Most of the lighting effects were boned by my scanner —w—, but some of them still show. *is really critical of her traditional work*
I have a scanner thats better for traditional buts its tiny and still in storage cause it cant fit in my house *sighs~*
Oh well, traditional only ever looks its best in person any way, so im not too heart broken~ Ill just have to do a real exhibit one day! *flashes randoms in the street*

*nod nod* I see the two as filling two different roles. Digital does a great job of being designed for replication and mass production, but there is nothing like the original of a traditional piece all framed and on display~ I get tingles when i go see traditional work in galleries, and i look forward one day to having a large scale exhibit of my own ^^
