Good God- that is an awesome shot! I so wish I had squirrels living in my trees- there's enough pecans and almonds there for them!

This one is pretty fond of sunflower seeds and peanuts. I haven't tried any corn yet.

Yeah, i know. But they love corn. You just have to wait until one comes and they will probably eat the whole husk clean

Thanks for the kind words (of course, it's much easier to get a good shot of these little guys when they let you get right up next to them instead of running away). All those pecans and almonds and no squirrels? :P

I can't say as I've ever tried. I'm sure a squirrel that was raised around humans wouldn't mind, but I'd never attempt it with a wild one, since I value the integrity of my fingers. :P

if you look around on youtube you can find a lot of videos of people who have made friends with squirrels at a very early age, and they are completely tame and easy to handle (if you do friend them early) ^.^

I've heard of a few people who've kept them as pets, though from what I've heard they're quite a handful. The squirrel in my photos is wild, but she has almost no fear of either me or the camera, as long as I don't make any sudden movements (she knows I dish out peanuts).
