Frolic Picnic Furmeet (Furries in the Wild) '13-The location
Welcome to Furries in the Wild!
Here was the location of the picnic at Joaquin Miller Park, just off of CA state route 13. Here I was perched up top a hill looking down at the barbeque area where anyone can join and grill their meats. As you can see, there was a fire pit too. The event started at noon, but I was late, so I do not know what was used there.
As you can see, there were many furs from all points of the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose metro area attending this and it is a welcoming part of the park. (There would be some form Sacramento or the Monterey Bay Area possibly.)
You may say that Oakland is a violent city, but if you know it very well, there are peaceful places in the city that are enjoyable, including here. Overall, there were no problems here, and it was a great experience for me as this was my first-ever furmeet outside of conventions.
There were dogs there, a good area to throw Frisbees and balls, no mosquitoes or ticks, and a fine temperature.
