Akil'Zon is one of 4 Avatar bosses in the Amani troll city of Zul'Aman. They are fanatically devoted to their animal patron gods and have undergone a transformation into the likenesses of the animal deities.
My references were a few quick screenshots from the movie Blizzard put out for Zul'Aman. This is the first of 4 pictures I hope to do. This is not the first time trolls have been transforming themselves into anthropomorphized avatars of their gods. Previous versions were a bat, a spider, a tiger, and a panther. The new ones are an eagle, a bear, a dragonhawk, and a lynx. I think I will have to draw an anubisath as well, because they were really cool enemies.
The pose in this is my own, I simply wanted him to look enraged and ready to attack. The outfit is modified a good bit from the original because I could not see every angle I needed. Originally in pencil, I used GIMP to play with the tone levels, though it might have lost some detail from too much darkening. Also please note:trolls have 2 fingers and a thumb. It was really awkward to draw that. I kept trying to do a background, but nothing was working. Perhaps after all 4 are done they will go in a picture together and I'll work hard on a backdrop of their city to show the temples and architecture.

Nice job on the art! I love bird-themed predators, and awesomely anthro'd versions of them are no exception, in the vorish sense or not! Love the way you did the talons on it, More like a carefully balanced foot than a tripod. :3

There's one more bird-themed avatar in the queue, but he will be coming last because his armor is going to be a nightmare. I think the bear-avatar is next up, and he had some neat armor things that won't kill me to try to replicate. The feet are just copied from how they look on the guy, but they definitely are meant for walking most of the time, as opposed to sitting on branches. ;)
I'm on randomly, though being on late is getting hard thanks to a 2nd semester class that's at 8am my time. x.X I'm soooo tired all the time these days. It's why nothing on my to do list gets done and only spur of the moment impulse work like this gets done.
Hmm well let's see...in my time:
Mon/Wed: 11:30am-11:30pm
Tue/Thur: 11:30am-6:30pm; 9:30pm-11:30pm
Fri: 11:30am-1:30pm; Work dependent opening
Sat: Work dependent opening
Sun: Any time-11:30pm
I should clarify that in no way will I actually be on at all of those times, because I do have homework, studying, etc. I also can't be the only one to use the internet.

See you in WarHammer! =3 I was just playin it earlier today, I can now say without a doubt that it's gonna blow everything else out of the water. I'm so happy. I used to play Dark Age of Camelot way back in the day, and now I get to get back in on all that RvR goodness. Keep in touch and I'll let you know where my guild is gonna roll our main characters at.
Oh yes, it's engaging. It's got everything done right. Mythic has delivered! =D
I was in a small castle assult the other day, defending... I was tossing spells from the battlements, big AoE things. When we finnaly ran them off, I came down and saw a busted Battering Ram, and our Castle doors were off their hinges. They almost got in. So epic.

Well I have some questions then...
Any idea how the game would handle on dial-up?
Player versus player or player versus enviroment primary orientation.
Monthly fees? Do you need a credit card?
Leveling speeds, level max?
Any sort of job systems?
Can you do much by yourself?
It there very much storyline to uncover?
How does the item system work, ie items, armor, weapons.
Yes, I am a careful buyer :P

--Most online games use very little bandwidth anyways. Especially MMOs. therefor, 56k should be fine. Just don't count on using a Voice chat along with it.
--It's a world of war. PvP is called RvR. The difference in definition is that the devs call PvP a 1 on 1 fight, and RvR is your whole faction vs the other side. So there is a large slant on RvR, but there is also a lot a lot a lot of PvE content. And everything done for PvE quest directly contributes to the RvR effort. So even if your not activly in the open world RvR battles, Your still contributing to the overall war effort by doing PvE stuff.
--Monthly fees, well yeah, it's a MMO, and you gotta help pay the Dev's salaries, server costs, and PROFIT! There will likely be GameTime Cards like most other MMOs available.
--Leveling speeds, to compare it to WoW, I'd say the speed of leveling might be just a tad bit slower per-level. The beta started me at lv 20, and in about a day I got to lv 22, granted the entire time I was in a 'rested' state. But there are only 40 levels (called Ranks here) to gain for PvE. But there are also 80 Ranks for RvR combat that give you more stats and abilities that are PvP biased, such as take less fire damae, or do more damage to humans, or gain Action Points (like Mana, but they recharge insanely fast) every time you kill a player. Also there are 80 guild Levels, I dont know what they do yet, but your guild will have a Guild Banner that they can carry into battle and give all their members a buff. And 5 Capital City levels, as your city grows from a shantytown into a prosperous gem.
---There is Crafting, and Gathering. I haven't messed with it much yet. As for Classes, Every race has 4-5 Classes unique to it. There are 3 races per side, and 2 sides, Chaos and Order. About 25 classes. Some on each side mirror each other a little bit, or quite a bit, but theres also 3 Paths to spec each class like Talents in WoW, but it works completely different. and a single class can be extremely different from some one else's character of the same class.
---You can do a LOT by yourself. At lv 20 as I was playing as, there were plenty of soloable quests, and a number of whats called Public Quests that I could do. a PQ is a quest thats done in a marked area where everyone else in the area killing quest mobs contributes to the progression of the quest.
Say you enter a Farm area. a PQ pops up saying you need to kill 60 Farmers and 30 Lookouts. Anytime you, or anyone else in the area kills one it all adds to the progression of the quest. When it is done, you get a chunk of Exp and the PQ goes into it's next stage, Burn 5 piles of Hay and the Farmhouse. This time there are stronger mobs that just spawned to protect the objectives. The players will start bunching together to complete the quest as a common goal, even though they mostly might be Solo, and not in a group at all. After everything is burned you get more Exp and the PQ enters it's next stage, kill the owner of the farm. And of course everyone in the area will go to the mansion and kill him. This will finish the PQ and everyone will get scored depending on how much they participated. Then a treasure chest will drop from the sky and everyone who helped will get a change to roll for loot from it, the top 5 rollers in this quest all get loot, at least from what I saw.
--- Storyline. From what I saw, the game progresses in Chapters. at lv 20 I was already in Chapter 10, and as you do quests you are told more and more story. There is a huge in-game book called the Tomb of Knowledge which records everything you've done and seen so you can go back and read the story thus far. and each RACE seems to have it's own story, so you can play the game over at least 6 times and get a new experience out of it every time plot-wise.
--- I dont know too much on items yet, but from what I've heard, Earned items will be better then Crafted items. Item sets can run in teirs. Different types of mobs drop different types of items, like Keep Lords will drop Chest armor, Players will drop Boots.
And lastly, If you don't like PvP in other games, you just might like it here, It's done so WELL that theres no such thing as ganking. Battles for control of castles are epic. Battering Rams, Catapults, Boiling Oil for the defenders. Archers and Casters on the Battlements firing down into the mob below trying to bust in...
Good enough for ya? =3

It does sound rather interesting so far, yes.
I know nothing about the races or classes, but it sounds likely I would have fun as Chaos. XD
My issue with World of Warcraft is that they are more and more trying to find ways to make everything you do take forever in order to keep you playing, like grinding thousands and thousands of reputation points for 15 or more factions at once, needing insane amounts of gold to get a flying mount, or making it so most raid content is too complicated for the average group to work together to overcome.

Yeah, I'm noticing that too. In War, the thing is that you push the frontlines of the battle until your at the opposing faction's Capital City, then you break in and destroy their shit, and get rewarded for it.
The races are for Chaos, Green Skins (Orcs and Goblins), Chaos (evil twisted human types) and Dark Elves.
The Order races are Dwarves, High Elves, and the Empire (normal humans)
The classes for each race generally follow the rule of 1 offensive Melee, 1 Defensive Melee, 1 Offensive Caster, and 1 Support/healing caster.
Like for the Green Skins you have the Black Orc (Def. Melee.) Choppa (Off. Melee) Goblin Shaman (Support Caster) and Goblin Squig Herder. (Off. Ranged Archer/Pet class)
As you can tell, there wont really be much to compare to the Goblin Squid Herder on the other faction, he's a very unique class. But a Tank class is fairly common, the mechanics just work differently from class to class.
