I don't know why I drew this, other than I just thought the idea was too cute to pass up. I love Kirby. I really do. He's too freaking adorable for his own good.
Why is it I have an obsessions with round creatures that eat things?
DON'T JUDGE ME.
Also, is this considered Kirby vore?
Wait... don't answer that.

Ah god, that's so sweet. <3 Wonderful, clean linework. As simple to draw as Kirby might seem, I've rarely seen anything that looks so cute and true to his more recent renditions on the GBA and DS. There've been a lot of versions with parts that are really off, or are just not quite right enough to keep his charm. =/
I agree. I love the way his GBA and DS versions look, but there was a lot of stuff inbetween that I didn't like. In fact, I was watching a thing on YouTube the other day about how they do the Kirby animated series, and it showed them using a drawn reference of Kirby running so that they could create a 3-D rendition of him. When I was looking at it, I honestly was more visually impressed with the drawn version than the 3-D version. He just doesn't look the same in 3-D. He's far cuter drawn.
I sketched it in Open Canvas, then did the linework in Illustrator and colored it in Photoshop. Sounds like a lot of work, and it probably is more than it needs to be just because of my lack of experience with Illustrator, but I wanted nice clean vector lines, and Photoshop can't do that very well.
No problem, man! I'm glad to hear it! And honestly, all that lineart was done with the pen tool, except for the circle for Kirby's body. The actual tapered ends I did in Photoshop, because I didn't know how to do them in Illustrator. After I finished the linework, I just exported it as a really high resolution image from Illustrator. The actual image size is like 3000x3000. XD
Holy shit! *laughs*
I did an image at over 8000 for the height myself, and over 6000 for the width, but I never finished it.

But the tapers were what I was really referring to when I said "lineart". You did that in photoshop? Again, I'm stunned. When I try to taper things, I can never get it to come out that clean, especially multiple succesive tapers, like the ones at the bottom of the side burn we can see. The only way I can picture that happening is with the eraser...
... let me shut up. *laughs* The fact of the matter is that you did it. And I envy you DEEPLY. I'm so glad I watched you, truly I am.

I don't have any jokes to say about this that folks haven't already said, so I guess going off on a tangent is the best I can do. Have you seen that Super Smash Bros: Brawl video where at the beginning they showcase the character 'upgrades' and how much better the graphics are with Mario, Link, and Kirby? They go through the magic 'graphic fairy' dust and while the first two are much improved, Kirby is distinctly... the same.
This is simply awesome. And cute.
Needless to say it made me draw my own fursona in Kirby form...>_> Sorry about starting it off as meme, it was more of fun thing to do rather than becoming it a meme ^^; (That and I've been playing Kirby 64 (VC) all day nowdays o_q)
But yes, this is awesome. I liked how you used the ears to go along the hair/sideburns on Kirby. And glee! Cuteness overload! :D
