When you say continental US, this includes Canada right? I'm assuming it does, but I just want to make sure.

I'm honestly not sure if it'd be allowed, but I'm assuming it would be. I just know that I can't ship overseas.

Continental US is the original 48 states :) Canada is not included.

I will probably be allowed to ship to canada, i just don't know about anywhere else. Shipping to different places is always difficult, but it isn't impossible. I'd rather not have to ship out of the US.

Is it because of materials or prices? I recently shipped to CA for a pretty large package which came out as $10 USD first class. The prices are insane outside of North America. AU was $30+ for a 1lb package first class.

Its a bit of both. I'm not sure what can go over borders (to Canada) without much issue. I've heard people have been having trouble with leather products recently with some shipping companies, and I could try it, but I couldn't guarantee it'd get there in any sort of timely or undamaged fashion. It would cost more to ship as well, seeing as I'd have to put at least some sort of insurance on the package.

It really depends on how much someone has on their list of work to do. I can't say how long it would take for someone else. :/
If you're worried though, you might want to have a conversation with the person you ordered it from.

Is there a particular reason why shipping out of the US is not allowed aside from the inconvenience? It really is unfortunate because I am interested and that simply rules me out.

Some places do not allow shipment of animal parts, including leather to cross borders.

I cannot find any restrictions on the import of leather or leather based finished goods to Canada or the European Union from the USA.

Generally tanned leather and it's products aren't quite treated the same way as other animal products since it's gone through some fairly extensive processing with some really unpleasant chemicals.

Some places allow it, others do not, and I'm not sure which those are. I also cannot ship overseas because shipping and insurance on it would cost more than the actual product depending on where it would be going. Much rather be safe than sorry at this point in time.
