It's already been done, ages ago. It just is the pony mosin. It's a mid-war Izhevsk and a mixed number re-arsenal, it's basically worthless but a good shooter. For a nicer example of a Mosin I have a 1929 Tula, ex-dragoon (The brown one) that aside from refinishing in a more modern coating is the way it's supposed to be.
