This is what the sheet says in the seat.
Originally built in 1948 using a 1933 1,5 ton Chevy truck. It was used to cut hay until the 70's when the engine froze up. In 2005 it was saved from a scrap yard and brought back to working condition by the Sparta Possum Lodge. A half ton axle had been installed at some point to utilize cheaper tires. And the 2 speed rear is an earlier 1945 GMC unit that was welded in low range after the original owner had caught his sons making speed runs down the road.
The doodlebug tractor is the colloquial name for home made tractors during WWII when production tractors were in short supply. The were later used by farmers who couldn't afford to buy a tractor.
This one has two four speed transmissions and until it was welded into low gear a two speed rear end. Which gave it 34 forward speeds and 8 reverse. The lowest combined ratio if achieved by having both transmissions in reverse, and the rear end in low range give it a final drive a 372:1 ratio. In that low range it would take a half hour to cross the street at low idle.
