It's been a really long time since I posted an update about Morloth. At the insistance of
here's one that's long overdue. >u>
This is Morloth last weekend. She had her spay surgery last Friday and she's doing just fine. :) She's just over 4 pounds, still a lightweight but very healthy, and VERY energetic.

Thats awesome. my mom doesn't take her pets :/ she has 4 male cats right now none of which have vaccines and none are fixed and she lets them run rampant outdoors. i'm sure they mark in her house since there are 4 of them and they are well over a year old now.. ugh. i haven't seen her in over 2 years and going to the area soon and definitely NOT taking my kids there and i'm going to talk her into getting them fixed and etc or giving them up. she had a dog too but got her to let my in laws take him since she left him out in the hot arizona sun at all times. he's 9 yrs old now and the last time he went to the vet was for his neuter when he was 2 :/ when i get there i'm helping them pay for vaccines and heart worm testing and etc and i'm sure he'll need to be dewormed.. I can't stand it :(
That really sucks. :( I feel bad for animals when people just get them to make them yard furniture. Its especially unfortunate for those who live in extreme climates.
My younger sister is living with my mom right now and between the two of them they have 6 cats. Three of them are my mom's, and they get routine vet care. Of the three that belong to my sister, only the female is fixed. The males piss on everything and one of them runs around catarwauling when he wants to go out to see the female kitty across the street. One of them got one of my mom's females pregnant before she was fixed, that's actually where MY kitty came from.
Its really aggravating to see her not taking care of her cats, though I can't say this is the first time she's treated an animal like a toy. In the last few years I can't even count on one hand the number of critters she's gone through - when they're no longer a novelty, she finds someone to pawn them off on and pretty soon she comes home with something else. She brought home ducks one time...those ended up out in the yard with my mom doing all the feeding and cleaning, and eventually a fox got both of them. :/
I did a lot of planning before I got my cat - wanted to make sure I could afford to care for her properly. I bought all the toys and supplies a month before she came to live with me, and got her on the plan with the vet as soon as I was able. They depend on us for everything, if we can't provide what they need, we shouldn't have them.

I don't understand people not getting their animals fixed. It's better for their health, and a lot of places have a clinic that will do it cheap or free. I know someone who had two female dogs and a male, all unaltered, despite the fact that they could have gotten at least the male taken care of free down the street. Both females got pregnant and one died from labor complications. It's really really upsetting when people don't bother to look after their pets. :(
I love Banfield's wellness plan! So convenient if you travel a lot too, because there's a Petsmart in nearly every city.
I have my two dogs and cat on it, it pays for itself just in how much I save on their heartworm and flea prevention. My kitty got spayed this week, too, and the surgery plus nail trim, ear cleaning, post-op pain meds, and her flea protection came out to like $60.

Mine went from 15 pounds to 21 after he was neutered! (Note: he wasn't with me at this time; my older brother was fostering him in Missouri and got him neutered in preparation for bringing him to Wyoming for me, and brother didn't notice the weight gain because Mr. Merlin is built like a tank to start with.) Now he's at 16 and still looks like a pillow with legs but the vet says he's healthy so.. eh. XD
