I'm reminded of this one stretch of freeway on the way to Las Vegas. Flat. No curves. No civilization to speak of. The speed drops from 70 to 55 for a few miles. Then, goes back to 70 to return to 55 for a few more.
Why? No reasons but one. Police speed trap.
Originally, speeds were posted to keep people safe. But, corruption has become married to safety.
