Looks more like sniffing, had I to guess. But it's a nice view on the pattern on her muzzle. Is probably unique like a fingerprint

She's sniffing indeed. That old apple tree trunk there is starting to fall apart. She seeks for spots to speed up the destruction process by ripping pieces out of it. As for the nozzle, yes, I noticed that too. Especially the black stripe differs heavily between foxes. It can be anything from a tiny spot around the whiskers to a completely black snout.
