The whole album is just classic. Husker Du's "Everything Falls Apart", "Metal Circus" and "Zen Arcade" are amazing. Fear "The Record", The Germs "G.I.", 7 Seconds "The Crew", the entire Minor Threat catalog, Bad Brains "Rock For Light" and "The Rior" cassette, Septic Death, M.D.C., The Offenders, Bad Religion, Dead Kennedys, to name just the tip of the iceberg of bands I lord and saw live in the 80's.
I played drums for the Dead Kennedys.
The story: Back in '84, just before "Frankenchrist" was released, the Dead Kennedys played a show in Providence R.I., where I'm originally from. D.H. Peligro was MIA. The opening bands were done and no DKs. An hour had gone by, no DKs. Jello comes out with an explanations and 2 options, they can give us our money back, or they could choose drummers out of the audience to fill in until Peligro arrives. The crowd chose the latter. My band mate grabbed my shirt and said, "YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY FOR THE DEAD KENNEDYS". I was escorted to the back room where Klaus and Ray were sitting, tuning their guitars, and Jello, on the phone, screaming at the airline rep because they lost his luggage. Me and three other drummers were chosen to play. I got the most songs though. "Nazi Punks","A Child And His Lawnmower" & "Terminal Preppy". Here's the kicker, The DKs show was on a Thursday night. That following Saturday my band opened for The Minute Men.
