So, this is the very first fursuit head I've ever made! I spent a lot of time making sure that it turned out perfect. He is a foam and plastic mesh construction with moving jaw and follow me eyes. All the foam and mesh was either glued or hand stitched. All of the fur was double hand stitched to ensure a secure hold and no string being shown. Nose and teeth were made with sculpty. The nose is covered in a spray enamel with multiple coats of acrylic sealer and matte finish. The spray enamel never dried and kept absorbing all the sealers. So it is now covered with 3 coats of acrylic paint and sealed again. The fur was shaved with an electric razor, and the eyebrows and black around the eyes were done with a permanent marker (I don't own an airbrush sadly). I also added metal snaps to ensure a secure fit.
Honestly, I spent about 72 hours in total if not less on this. But finding the time over the past year and a half with class and work has made it drag on longer than it really needed. I made a lot of mistakes along the way, and while frustrating, I learned a lot and was able to fix my mistakes. I am so excited to have him done! I can't wait to take him to MFF and show him off. I am very proud of my work. I'm not normally satisfied with my work, but I am with him! :D I really hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think!

The permanent marker actually looks really good! When you don't have an airbrush, you find other ways to do things, which isn't necessarily bad ^^ I JUST got an airbrush a couple months back, but for a long time I used fabric markers for small details like that, that work just as well. I know
crystumes uses paint and a cloth to do her markings and her work is wonderful.
I'm also glad to see another builder using mesh :) Granted I use steel wire and not plastic, as I can't find the plastic stuff anywhere. I HATE heads that are made with all foam, they're so hot and heavy D: Mesh and foam is totally the way to go when you don't have resin access.
