Going to try spawning this boy to the pinkish-red female. He's kinda lazy though, so I don't know how well it will work out, or if it'll happen. The female isn't showing bars yet...some females don't bar at all actually. I let her out to swim with him about three minutes, and she kinda chased him just a little bit. He's currently hanging out under the almond leaf. We'll see what he does over the next day or so. I may take him out and replace him with a more feisty male if he hasn't gotten a bubble nest going in a couple of days.

He's got the cutest little pectoral fins, but his ventral curl...which could have been a water condition thing, or genetic...don't know. He was however, being a bit of a weenie, so he might need to age up some more. So replaced him today with a much more feisty male. We'll see how that goes. X3
Depends - if the curl starts at the tips, it's typically a water thing (and with proper water, will usually eventually fix itself), but if it's the whole thing, that's usually genetic. In any case, I can't wait to see the new pair. Some boys just need to age out a bit more or have a female who can give visible submission bars (since not all females can, due to the domestic colorations we have now).
