For a lame article about the author's memories of Thanksgiving during the depression (when the could only afford weirners instead of chicken), it resulted in a rather memorable drawing I think. I consciously borrowed from 20's style cartooning (as I'd seen underground cartoonists in the 70's borrow) to create the Purtian weiner. After all, what would a "realistic" walking weiner look like? A "Puritan weiner" is also a word play, as there is in fact a brand of Puritan weiners.
