I was going to write this as a journal but... I feel I needed to say it instead. I know the people it goes to probably won't listen through, but that's alright.

its sad that people cant seem to find better things to do with their time then to hide behind the said mask of teh internet to harass and bully people There are so many more productive things people could do with that energy that could have a mush more positive out put.
Sadly not everyone seem to want to do that and find way too much enjoyment in being so very childish. It was never this bad when I was growing up but have noticed its gotten rather out of hand these past several years. It makes it hard for people to want to express themselves nowadays and let people get to know them, in fear of someone possibly finding something they can pick on someone about. something so petty and pointless of someone's shoes being untied.
I do hope you have a peaceful break. we can't wait for you to return when you're ready to. =)

I completely agree. I am getting really REALLY tired of seeing people who REVEL in the fact that they're assholes. They'll just say "I'm a dick" and let it go at that. We're all supposed to just deal with their brand of bullshit just because they say they're dicks. They don't even WANT to learn or change or stop being that way. They just want to be that way.
Then to top it all off, is they have their little friends, their buddies who feel they're doing the right thing by defending their friend in their friend's times of being a cock waffle. They fail to see that this makes them just as inconsiderate and cock bite like as their friend.
People in this fandom find acceptance where they wouldn't find it otherwise. Some people take this acceptance, and wish to share this with other people and build this tight nit community. Some people take it, and use it as a shield to become an asshole. Maybe because they already were to begin with, or they want a chance to be the type of person that was treating them poorly. Either way, they're dicks. They take their little ball of safety that they've built because they know that no matter how douchy they are to anyone, they'll always have those people coming back to support their poor behavior.
This fandom has been one where i've seen HORRIBLE bullying from the same people who will complain about being bullied. It's all because it turns into this whole clique. This whole stupid mean girl bullshit and while they're safe in their little net, they'll refuse to see how horrid they are.
I'm sorry people are so entitled and douchy and bitter that they have to take it out on you. You take all the time you need on your break! I wish you happiness~

I think you really needed to put this out there, hun. I definitely feel as though the anonymous culture that the internet has created has opened the gateway to comments like those that have been made and the pushy, self-entitled nature that seems to be rampant in our society. It is terrible, indeed... I think hearing a person's voice helps remind people that you are more than a title and an icon on a website. That you are a person, like all of us.
Such a pretty voice, you should do voice acting x3
I've heard a lot more about "popufurs" getting lots of flak and unneeded problems. Most stories I heard were kind of out blown our of proportion, but this seems like a far greater problem. You an artist, you have every right to do what you want and I'll fight for you to keep that right ;3. You art is awesome btw, I enjoy everything I find of yours in my submissions watch list. I love the comic as well, I know it will probably make me cry when you finish it but its a good story and sometimes good stories do that.
This message got kinda ramblely and I'm not sure I said all I wanted to, but know that regardless of what you do or say with you art or you FA account you will have my support x3.

It makes me remember in my past, before I publish my art on the internet and even today, the world laugh at my creations I've worked before, I gave up everything, a friend told me, people who give you shit like comments, they are people who have no talent and future, they exist to belittle you and your success abandon your dreams and plans for their pleasures.
It convinced me to continue my project and when I see a hate comment, I said that this is such a loser.
(Sorry for my errors in translation.)

Everyone needs some kind words now and then.
Heh I had to cuckle at you mentioning a bully who makes some rude comments ant tell you to deal with them... he should have dealt with the stuff you did! And I mean the kind of "deal with it" that means "shut it and suck it up it's the way things roll!"

When I saw page 22 of your comic, it made me cry. But, strangely enough, in a good way. Someone very close to me, when we were teenagers, was diagnosed with cancer. I slept on the hospital floor, I stayed with her every day and every night she was hospitalized. I shaved her head, and I helped her think about making a request to the Make A Wish Foundation.
The thing about your comic though, specifically, that brought back those memories is the first panel. The panel of them laughing at the silly face masks. Because we did that. Legit. We were supplied with these ridiculous Minnie Mouse face masks when her white blood count was really low and we needed to be careful about germs and it was.. just hilarious. We all went to the movie theater wearing them, telling people we were in a Disney gang.
And apart from some of the more shitty moments (with chemo and a whole lot of other things) I just remember laughing with her. Spending my days and nights with her, just having a good time. And you reminded me of that. And I am so grateful for it.
Cancer is such an ugly thing. And even the word seems to set some people on edge. People who have never experienced it (whether it be someone you love, or yourself) I feel like they back away from the word. Like it's taboo, like it's fucking Voldemort.
But they can't. It's a word, It's an illness, it's frustrating, expensive, and I think it just makes people uncomfortable. It makes them fearful, because they don't understand. And how could they?
And I think that's why people have created such a negative wave a douchey-ness about this. Because they're uncomfortable and they feel like they can just push and prod and say what they want. And that's just... so wrong.
You're making this for yourself with (more than likely) your own reasons. Reading it feels personal to me. And no one has the right to attack that, regardless of how popular you are.
I, for one, am so pleased you're making this comic on your own time. I've enjoyed it so far, and I hope you continue. I feel like more stories of this nature need to be told, and I'm so glad that you're doing it.
I'm very sorry for the opposition you're facing and general dicky-ness you've come up against. I hope that when you come back, you come back feeling better.
I'll look forward to when you do :3

Seeing some of the crap that people have been leaving for you is just awful. It's actually persuaded me to not post my future comics/stories on this site or possibly any other. I'm so attached emotionally to the things that I create that it would just tear me apart to have people talk about the stories that I work to create in such a way. I'm so sorry that people are giving you trouble. They don't deserve the beautiful, touching art that you create.
Reading over the comments posted on your comic, I completely understand why you're leaving for a while, and am honestly surprised you haven't openly lashed out at any of them. The amount of respect I had for you just skyrocketed after this. You took the voice you had and posted it, it means a lot more than just text on a site, and carries much more weight to it as well.
I really, really do hope you feel better after this well deserved break, Sal. The stuff you've gone through because of the internet bullies on here is ridiculous. ; o;

Sal, I do believe you are one of the most level-minded people on FA here. Anyone giving you shit over whatever, especially when they think you're a 'popufur' are just... I don't even know how to properly describe those degenerates. I'd call them autistics, which I usually do, but that'd be an insult to the autistics.
You must have the patience of a saint, love. I probably would've just thrown in the towel on the piece and either kept it private or stopped altogether if I had people battering down my door demanding that I change my artistic vision to suit their on personal comfort zone. I wish you a happy, quiet, peaceful break, and I hope to see you back here one day, armored up with a machine g........well rested and ready to do your thing once again. Yeah, that.
Remember that one persons love can combat numerous peoples hate, and a great many people love you and your work. Dont stop doing what you love and know that sooo many people support you and your work, and frankly all the people who dont can go and get bent! Your friends, fans, and loved ones will be awaiting your return :) I wish you the best

I get what your saying, but I have one thought on the "popufur"situation. it is true, with all your watch base, you wouldn't have this exposure without it, and no one would pay the mind to it they are now, but...moreso, it comes down to this site having a mix with its popular artists, between level headed decent ones, to rude arrogant eliteist esque, and unfortunately, people who are very nice that HAPPEN to be popular tend to get a lot of hate and animosity they don't deserve, and with something as scary and as hard as what your doing(I for one am terrified of cancer, since my grandma died of lung cancer. watching her deteriorate...) its frightening, and some people don't know how to handle fear of something like this, mixed with the little issues that be. either way, like I said before, its a beautiful powerful thing your doing, and the negativity with the positive feedback, it just goes to show how worth it it is
troll vs. bully:
troll: random person that really just takes a chance to be funny at someone's expense example: "that's what she said"
bully: person that returns to the same 'victim' and having a narrow view of humor
the difference with the 2 is that you should try laughing at the trolls but bite back at the bullies
the internet is the reason why bullies and such are getting so bad. there is a shroud of anonymous. they can say what they want to an extent but as long as what they do doesn't get on the red alert of people that it matters to them then they will never stop. however if that veil is removed then they may stop.
as for the comic you're doing, you may have to remind them that this was YOUR creation not a commission if you feel needed you can do a mass Do Not Post on it and explain that it was retaliative FREE ART meaning that they have no right to ask you to change it, complain about it, etc. and if they don't like it, tough. you ARE a PERSON you are not a sob, or some other self righteous prick. you have proven that with all the journals that explained your life troubles. you give the real supporters reason to not think of you as 'another artist on FA'
sorry if you hate my horrible grammar/spelling skills

First off: No one has any right to tell you how to do your work. Period.
My reasons for the "ignore the trolls" has to do with my own hypothesis on human behavior (which come from biological reduction), and from the viewpoint of a male with a mindset rooted deep in the same. Unfortunately, males must frequently abnegate themselves in situations like these.

As a pre-requisite to my post, I feel I must apologize for the off-kilter jokes I made within your livestream under the name Tristan- they were made purely in jest and the sense of humor involved in them was a bit twisted. I need to learn to bite my tongue more, and if they hurt your feelings I'm quite sorry for them.
Regarding the contents of this audio, I feel you are very brave for making such a statement. Indeed, the 'take it like a man' mentality is not an idea that should be spread, and while it is generally a good idea for one's own mental health to not let the opinions of those unimportant to you to sway your emotions, it's perfectly okay to complain or admit when they do.
I wish you the best of luck and will personally be watching the comments I make with a higher level of scrutiny before I post them, so as to not accidentally anger anybody or hurt their feelings.

Popularity often leads people to think that you only care about your status...
They fail to realize that you're not just your right hand. To think that an artist is capable of creating something that they don't want to see is unimaginable in their eyes.
Yes, you have lots of supporters, myself included.
But there are always going to be those nasty people who want to coerce you into doing things only they want to see.
The fact that you're taking this stand and saying "NO" is probably the bravest thing you could do.
Never back down from someone saying to just "suck it up" or "just don't say anything"
You do have that voice and I'm so happy to see you using it to show you're not just another "popufur"
You've never been a "popufur" in my eyes. You've always been, and continue to be, a good friend, and a wonderful person.
Stay strong and NEVER let the haters bring you down!

Aye the modern world can indeed be an awful place, people pushing others around, treating others like garbage. But its people like you that make this world a place worth living in, becasue its people like you who are nice to others and do what they think is right for them and everyone around them that make this world a better place. Keep it up gal.
