We had a bit of a subgroup down here in the swamps (smaller, darker) but they weren't exactly a separate species. And lately, they have imported enough cougars from other parts of the country to broaden the gene pool that now they pretty much resemble the rest of the country's mountain lions/cougars/big tan kittys. ^_^
