Perhaps better known as the Guandao(named after General Guan Yu who had the weapon forged). It consists of a heavy blade with a spike at the back and sometimes also a notch at the spike's upper base that can catch an opponent's weapon. The blade is placed atop a 5-6ft. wooden or metal shaft that ends with a pointed counter weight that can be used for thrusting. The blade itself is deeply curved and thus was mostly used for sweeping cut attacks but chopping and thrust attacks are also possible.
