First off, many thanks to the new and old watchers, it is much appreciated and this is to make up for not responding in a timely fashion.
Ok now down to the details, this here picture began as a relatively quick drawing to celebrate finishing a bunch of design drawings (I may put them in my scraps at a later date). This was drawn in photoshop CS 5.1 and final touch ups were completed in sketchbook pro V6.
Through the drawing of this several problems arose which I will now make sure they wont be in further drawings and they are as follows.
- Not enough dithering of detail as the environment stretches into the distance which flattens out the scene (loses a sense of depth)
- The characters pose doesnt have enough overlap in the limbs which further contribute to the flattening out effect
- Not enough attention was paid to colour interactions and as a result a fair few of the colours are wrong considering the light sources (and also a lazy application of bounce light)
- Anatomy is just plain wrong in multiple instances.
Anyway what I got from this was a sense that I need to go and hit the books on anatomy so when I return I shall endeavour to not make these same mistakes and be able to provide higher quality work.
Until then mentlegen enjoy!
