[WORK] Disney's Animal Kingdom Explorers animal concepts 2
You've seen it before, now here's some more!
I worked on the Facebook version of Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers for about 14 months, creating somewhere between 230-250 or so designs (can't be arsed to go through all the files). Though the game was sunset fairly recently, it was a lot of fun to work on. How many animals can you name?

Ya exactly. Well at my previous office I was very reluctant to mention that I did this sorta thing too, but as I found more people I eventually got comfortable enough to wear the tauren to a halloween party. It was a real hit too! It's nice not to have to hide. Granted! That said, I'm not overly open about it either =)

Yup, presentation is what I meant when I said I wasn't overly open about it. I guess I should rephrase that to, I don't rub it in people's faces =) It's just an interesting facet of my person that ... if colleagues feel like they want to know more then I'll say something. Other than that I just do my thing. Probably only some of my closest colleagues have come to see me perform at outings. Some of them who were real 'haters' of the whole fandom changed their minds when they saw all the happy that came out of suiting in controlled public spaces or at say ... Charities and stuff.
Blue tarantulas (tarantulae?) exist, actually! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped....._tarantula.jpg
We were pretty good about trying to be accurate about depicting animals in this project. I even had to bring some inaccuracies to the director's attetnion at one point (we were releasing a domestic animals pack, and someone tried to sneak Przewalski's horse in there, tsk tsk). And good eye! Those are, indeed, sand cats.

At the time, I was an localization/overflow artist within the company, and basically had to shop myself around to a bunch of the game teams in an attempt to get on a project. Luckily, I was able to hop on when the game was early in its development, so it worked out.
It would really depend on what you're looking to do, but just as some general advice, I'd say tailor your portfolio to the companies and positions you're trying to be hired for, and begin talking to people who are already in it, if you aren't doing so already. Networking can provide many opportunities that could have otherwise gone unnoticed if you're solely relying on job sites to look for work.
I also had a conversation with another person here that you might find useful here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/808...../#cid:56304707

Thanks a lot, I'm looking to start school this coming spring and am looking to broaden my horizons. I'll definitely be looking into getting the Adobe creative suite to learn them as well. Would be awesome to keep in touch with you though as an "ear on the inside" so to say and get input on future projects I work on. Thanks a lot though for replying.
