Greer Adaire, The Piper
NAME: Known as "Greer Adaire", real name lost to time
SPECIES: Appears to be a Fawn (mixture of predominately wolf and whitetail deer)
GENDER: Male
AGE: Unknown but appears to be in his mid to late 30s
NATIONALITY: He would laugh at you for asking.
BODY TYPE: Stands at 6' 4" (not including his antlers) with a deep digitigrade stance inherited from his Fawn lineage. Body type is well toned but fairly average. As for physical traits, he is mainly wolf in appearance, but shows deerlike traits in his antlers (durrrrr), his short and round tail, most of his markings, and his ears (which are a mix between wolf and deer). As for his antlers, they grow larger or shorter depending on how he wishes to appear, the season, etc. The flowering vines are a part of him, and are morning glories. They typically appear as one color (blue, pink, or purple) depending on mood and environment. Their abundance increases with moods such as passion, happiness, or while doing magickal workings. Their appearance decreases and almost withers or recedes if he is sad, ill, or tired. They are shown in multicolor here mostly for reference, but all colors CAN BE present rarely.
PERSONALITY: For the most part, Greer keeps to himself and appears to be secretive and cautious, but it's more or less out of necessity. His kind aren't exactly acknowledged in a modern world that considers him and his brothers and sisters fairytales. Once he decides someone is worth his time and company, he is delightful, mischievous, and charming. There is a timeless quality to his company, and he prefers to not concern himself much with the "fine points" of the modern world that slowly tightens a noose around his very existence. However, he is eternally curious and playful and always willing to learn as long as others are willing to learn from him as well. While being able to project an uncanny calm in the face of most types of turmoil, he is very protective of those few who mean something to him and to anything he considers his responsibility.
BACKGROUND: Greer is a sort of demigod whose purpose is to act as sentinel to the forest that bore him ages and ages ago. He hales from a time when mortals and immortals and land and beast were much more interconnected than they are today, and he's seen many of his kind fade away from the world around him. After all, he and those like him are mostly immortal but can lose their lives if the thing they symbolize or protect is killed or otherwise destroyed. Greer has watched modernity spring up around the forest that is both his mother and his home, and while he has every bit of power it would take to strike out against the things that hurt him and slowly kill him, he has deep empathy for the very creatures that bring such things about, and so, he usually does nothing harmful in retaliation...preferring to act as a trickster spirit than a vengeful almost-god.
Thankfully, the family that "owns" most of his land doesn't seem too hellbent on paving it over, though it does give him quite a bit of a fright when someone moves into the old cabin that had long been abandoned. She seems as though she's staying...not just visiting as previous generations had. Still, he decides to watch her from the shadows of the surrounding woods before taking any sort of action or revealing himself.
Days pass and turn into weeks. His tenant seems to be respectful and grateful of the beauty of his forest, and he begins to take an almost protective sort of interest in her. One day, she drops her pencil in one of the thickets, and, knowing she's not the type to just thoughtlessly litter, he allows himself to manifest, pick up her pencil, and hands it to her. And so begins the strange tale of Idonea Rothschild and the stranger who seems to inhabit her forest...
Alright, this is another new character of mine who will be coming up in stories and drawings soon. He is an altered adoptable I snagged from
, and him is gorgeous and you know it. If you are curious about the other character mentioned in his bio, here she is http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10938098/ .
