This is just something I threw together earlier this morning. I wanted to re-record a few songs this morning, but my good mic adapter is lost (per my brother) so for now this will do. Especially since I had to use my old mic (which I hate).
Below are the lyrics as I have them thus far. Just for your entertainment.
Bark. ^^
_-_-_-_
I can tell by your eyes,
that behind them there must lie,
someone who is happy and is free.
I can tell by your soul,
that inside you you must know,
the secret that will keep you here with me.
I can tell by your heart,
that inside you is an art,
to making everyone around you see.
I can tell by your thoughts,
that you know that you are not,
what it is that you pretend to be.

I like the song.
Your vocals weren't pitch perfect (but hey, it's a demo), but I loved the touch of it. Definitively something I'd listen to. The song was pretty good too, the lyrics are good, the rhyme's good, everything about it is good. I hope you develop this one.

Thank you! ^^
Eh, yes.... Sadly, even when my songs aren't demos, the vocals still aren't very good. >_< But hopefully with some work I can at least make them... decent? ^^
*Wags his tail behind him* Thank you kindly for the favourite... and for the watch, might I add! ^^ Very kind of you!

Aww, thank you! I'd considered taking some classes or instruction, but I really don't have the money to put toward it, nor do I really have any application for such knowledge gained apart from these little tidbits of music I toss up. ^^
*Wags his tail with a happy bark* Oh! Thank you kindly for the watch! ^^

I ended up recording the guitar and the vocals at the same time to keep from having to mix them, since this older mic gets a bit of static when it records... so the fewer layers, the better. >_< But when I do a final version, I'll be sure to do guitar and vocals separately so I can adjust the levels as needed. ^^
*Wags his tail sheepishly* Voice classes would be... nice. But I'd have such a limited application for such that I'm afraid it wouldn't be worth the time, money, or effort. >_< *Muses* But it would be a lovely thing to do, all the same! ^^

Point taken. May I suggest that you work on the voice in private then? The idea of professional singing is to use as little air as possible in creating the sounds. It's hard to explain without being able to demonstrate it, but the point is in really using your larynx as a resonator much more intensively than when you use it to generate your talking voice. The goal is to be able to sing a loud tone without making a candle that is held in front of your mouth flicker...
It's difficult to convey the finessses without atual IRL contact, but I hope you get the drift.
