they say that desperate people run
and they don't usually know where they're going
about three years ago i ran to decorah iowa
to put some rum in my body

we knew we were going to have a great time
and i started drinking sailor jerry within the first two minutes of unpacking
i had a nice warmth in my belly
and put on enough cologne to smell like an abercrombie & fitch

we started a bonfire in a cave
and donned our warpaint
every one of us was related
they could hear us howling for miles

the next morning we had bloody marys with our hash browns
to kill the brutal hangover
my two buddies were stoned
and i felt rightfully empty

we stumbled two blocks down to the haymarket
to finish out our ordeal
i slipped and fell but recovered and licked my wounds
well, the ones on my knees
