So I went star gazing tonight, to hopefully see some of the meteor shower this week called the Persiods. They're peak is the night of the 12th, any time after midnight. It'll be around 100 meteors per hour.
I went tonight, and was fortunate enough to catch a VERY LARGE, very BURNING meteor pass the sky. It was quite large, largest i've ever seen, and it even had a smoke trail behind it. Only lasted a split second, but it was magical.
My mate lives in the city, where the light pollution prevents any stargazing. I felt bad he missed the magnificent show, so I drew him this picture to cheer him up. It's him and I watching the Persiods together. =]
Cheers!
