In one small microcosm the elements of life. New and old, a little of fire and a bit of cold.
A little creative use of filters to give a painted look.

This is a really beautiful and well shot photo and I like the bit of filter use on it as well. I think it gives it a bit of a nice touch.
I know I see similar lizards in my own area on occasion, they are really beautiful with the sharp contrast of colors. I don't know if they have five lines, but the blue tails are hard to miss.

Awr, thank you. It was kind of fascinating to note how many of the classic elements could be portrayed in such a tiny part of nature. Then playing around with the filters to give it a specific feel was fun too.
Neat. Their vibrant colors very much caught my eye, while I'm quite fond of reptiles in general :) Especially that tail is quite something to see, but also the whole scale of colors that runs through them. They could represent the four elements just on their own.
Heh, to think of it the picture ended up as my own desktop background for a good while too.

Nature itself is truly astounding! It's quite amazing how things exist in such varieties of colors, shapes, sizes. There is so much to it.
I'm a fan of reptiles as well too, in fact I got linked to your gallery and FA through a mailing list I'm involved in that involves plenty of reptiles.

That's for sure. There are some very strange critters out there, but that's what makes it interesting and wonderful. Like have you seen a Potoo for example, http://imgur.com/gallery/Tl89L ? *Grin*
Ah neat, well glad you checked it out and nice to meet you :)
