The Rowley's Palm Pit Viper (Bothriechis rowleyi) is a venomous pitviper species found in southeastern Oaxaca, Mexico.
The adults grow to at least 97.3 centimetres (38.3 in) in length, and usually inhabit pine-oak forests and ravines in them. Sometimes they can also be found at coffee plantations.
The species is listed as vulnerable due to it exclusively being found only inside an area of 20,000 km² (7 722 mi²), of which it occupies less than 2,000 km² (772 mi²). Its distribution is severely fragmented, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat.
The photo includes a little 'easter egg' you'll find if you look carefully enough :)
