Oh, wow, you're right! I didn't see that at first, either: I thought they were just paintbrush strokes. Looks like I fail the Republic vision test. :)

There's something patriot and oddly American about this. I think it's because you've inadvertently put stars and stripes in the background. In any case, I like how it turned out.
