The repair nanites got me thinking of possible combat applications so I decided to go full throttle with the idea. Having a force that could be able to invade and subvert any space would be a massive boon to us. The only real problem would be maintaining the machines as well as keeping both them and the control body sufficiently powered. Ah well, should this not work out, I can't say I didn't try.
