The LaoLao neocrians
Long ago, before the remora even thought about existing, there was a race. a race of warriors, racers and conquerors.these were the LaoLao, theorically the ancestors of neocrians, judging by the shape of their head.
for ten thousand years, they existed as organic creatures, just like us, thinking, loving, getting sad and happy, and their intelligence increased over time.
in their peak of technology, though, a scientist invented the LaoLao suit, an armor that allowed complete mobility and augmented abbilities, including faster running speed, battle claws, and telekinesis, to hold objects far heavier than themselves. it was mainly used for combat and for friendly racing, and it required a complete replacement of their body, moving their heart [core] and connecting it to the machine.but still, it found its way into the citizens due to its low cost and fast crafting. each suit was personalized and not one looked like the other. however, there was something they were not thinking about when they started using these suits permanently in their bodies. they were warned the suits had no sex, but still, they used them. they were warned the suits were hard, but they still used them. they were warned the suits were heavy, but they still used them. after a century, the totality of their species were using them, and that marked the end of their race. they became robots. robots with feelings, with a mind… a mind that was slowly erasing itself and becoming prime machinery. they battled eachother, raced against each other, and finally, destroyed each other. soon there would be none left, but legends say that the origin of neocrians was thanks to the wild LaoLao that lived alone in the mountains, and never had access to intelligence.
this is an example of an armor. the more victories the user had in racing or battling others, the more markings they would have, based on the culture of the other nations, and thus they’d be more respected.
generally the pattern of their art resemble their religion, which worshipped Nasia, the goddess of wind. this one here had beaten six other nations in racing, and thus had a lot of respect.
after their extinction, everything they were was lost until now.
