Have you ever had one of those dreams where all the sudden you are back in High School standing in front of the chalkboard trying to solve a problem. But it is not even a class you're enrolled in and you have no idea what the answer is. To make matters worse the girl/ guy you'd really like to impress them and ask out on a date is in sitting in the front row watching you intently. Then the class starts laughing and you look down and you're not wearing your pants. Well I had one like that in my Equestria dreamscape. Yeah I'll have dreams sometimes inside my dreams.
Now I am not stressed over graduating from High School but I am worried about getting certified as a weather pony. Even if just a reservist at first. I have been studying every spare moment I have link , and despite some recent things that have put me out of sorts link I am pretty certain I aced the written part of the exam. All that was left was for me to do was pass the Basic Field Evaluation Exam. If did better than 80% on both exams then I would then be officially a reserve member of the Royal Equestrian Weather Corp. I'd also start getting a regular paycheck for it.
Unfortunately due to bureaucratic snafu I could not take the written exam and Basic Field Evaluation Exam on the same day. I had to wait two weeks before I could take the second part. What is more aggravating is that you don't find out how well you did on the written exam until the day of the Basic Field Evaluation Exam. So now I have had ten days to start second guessing my answers. Yippeee! If I failed I'd have to wait another two months before I can resubmit to take the exam again.
That is how I ended up having a dream of waking up on cloud as an earth pony and cutie mark suddenly not a paint brush with clouds flowing from it link but instead a brick. Just like the nickname Rainbow Dash gave me lnk .

yeah, I remember a couple of times I dreamed I was accidentally enrolled in advanced plant biology or something crazy like that (I think I was supposed to know a ton of metabolic, lifecycle, biochemistry, and I swear I think a creature like "Audrey II"'s biology was also a large chapter). It turned out I had been enrolled for the whole semester, and it was too late to drop the class, and the first day I knew I was enrolled and actually did show up there, The teacher mercilessly passed out an early midterm. FORTUNATELY I woke up and realized I graduated from college 6 months ago. Still felt that familiar fear I had as I was working on my capstone project in machine design my final semester.
Oh its all over now but it was kind of funny, and weird, to be worried about something that I knew was just in my dreams but I still remember chewing the test questions over and over in my head and wondering if I got one wrong, or could I have cited a better example.
Okay, in-dream (within dreamscape), why didn't Rainbow Dash do something to -- I don't know -- catch the non-flying Earth Pony?
I wonder what Princess Luna would have to say about this dream? Or does she avoid vetting Sky Brush's dreams? (She's got good reason to avoid Petina's.)
That look of terror in the last panel is terrific. I note that the pillows on either side are empty, too. Did the fillies "let" you sleep in?

Yeah, but as has shown on many occasions my subconscious can be a stingy bastard. So Dash just watched with confused wonder as I plummeted to the ground.
I wonder what Princess Luna would have to say about this dream? Or does she avoid vetting Sky Brush's dreams? (She's got good reason to avoid Petina's.)
Well she's been in my head at least once, maybe twice, but I am not aware of Petina or myself being under any special surveillance from her. Now Carousel has had dreams with Luna in them but we are uncertain whether they have been genuine visitations or general dreaming.
