Tuffys towers high over Perham, MN.

Tuffy's makes many brands of dog food. At one point they were owned by Doane Pet Care and in 2000 the plant was slated to be closed by them. Kenny Nelson, the son of the original founder, purchased the plant and the Tuffy's product lines. It is my understanding that Tuffy's only makes pet food, produces it in this one place exclusively, does not contract production out to any company and uses locally sourced ingredients.

The BNSF comes rolling through this town at a nice clip.
