arpad and I were volunteered to help my mother clean out my grandmother's summer home upstate New York this past weekend. It was the first time I'd been up there since I was like 16, and obviously the first time I've been there since my grandmother died in November, so I was hoping to be able to find a few things of hers to take back with me.
I stumbled across a couple of afghans she made and decided those were probably the most appropriate. You can never have enough blankets, and since she was the one that taught me how to do what I do, I like the idea of owning things she made too. They're definitely not colors I would choose myself, but here they are, freshly washed and completely uncoordinated. :o)
The square is pretty soft and comfortable. The granny square afghan is kind of stiff so i think it'll probably mostly wind up being decorative.
