One collecting expedition to Malibu Creek starts two story lines: what happens to the strange little scorpion-like thing that gets siphoned into the tank, and what happens to the crayfish and fish that are now living in the rain-gutter of the patio.
Perhaps that needs a little explaining...
The modern stucco apartment we lived in was on the top of two floors, and next to the bedroom was a large balcony with walls around it. Along the edges of two of the walls was a rain gutter that started very shallow, and got deeper as it got to the end where the rain would pour out onto the driveway. Zebrouxs plugged the end of the raingutter with three rocks and a bunch of modeling clay. We then filled up the rain gutter with water, put some more rocks in it and a few water plants, and then put in the crayfish and other fish we caught in the pond.
The real-life person that Zebrouxs Parallelogram is based on is not a furry. He has been furrified only to fit into this comic strip.
