Normally, people miss the 343 cats and 7 wives. But the real answer is simply one, the traveler. He only happened to meet the man, his wives, and their cats along the way.

Yeah, I completely randomly found this, when I'm supposed to be going to bed, and I'm like, 2401! Wait, NO! There's the man, too! Wait, no, wrong! There's the traveler! 2403! XD But all the while forgetting it says nothing about them actually going there /too/. ^^;; Go go love of math and complete naivete for logic! ^^
