Kitty is dressed as a young noblewoman of the late Edo era. The ball is called a temari, and is made of silk embroidery over a wrapped scrap fabric core. The sparrows on the screen are a humorous touch, meant to look like they're chasing the ball. Acrylic on Arches 140 lb paper.
