Poison Dart frog from the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD. Shot didn't come out the best. It's sharp, but the lighting is pretty bleh.
SUPER tough shot. This was shot using extension tubes allowing for close focus and macro style results. Problem is that means A) shutter speed needs to be a lot faster B) aperture is manually controlled C) need a small aperture to get any kind of DoF which means D) high ISO and that it's E) really hard to see through the camera due to the small aperture. Was also shooting through glass, contending with a moving subject that was poorly lit, and a constant herd of kids. In a place of animals, the most wild ones present were the kids =P
I handheld my flash and bounced it inside the relatively small environment for more ambient style light.

I absolutely love this photo. It wasn't that bad of a shot, since you can more clearly see his colors and the flash you used makes it look like his colors are magnified and brighter which adds to the fact that the original color is a good enough sign that the frog is deadly. Marvelous picture of a truly extraordinary amphibian.
