This is one of my Kyseer, an alien race from my headworld. Mardixu is a God from the Pantheon and as such is genderless, though they go he mostly.

Mardixu the Wave Walker

Mardixu was one of the extremely rare non-grey kyseer when he was mortal. Now hes often pictured either in shades of bright toxic red, purple or black, covered in a highly toxic liquid substance.
He is the god of water, the waves and the deity that is prayed to before one goes swimming or fishing. Mardixu is the deity that is in charge of those who die by drowning, and the animals in the seas. Mardixu has the power to take the fish and sea life away and thus is more commonly referred to as the death god, though he is not.

It is the reason for Ur being given to the seas, not Aea(life giver) as the Kyseer believe. Originally Ur was never a highly addictive substance merely turned into that once It realized Aea took the credit.

‘The kiss of Mardixu’ is one of the most painful ways to die. The kiss involves consuming the toxic substance Mardixu’s corporeal body leaves on the mortal plane. A tasteless, order-less substance that kills by liquifying the insides of those who consume it. Since like humans, Kyseer can live for some time even with their hearts damaged the kiss is often used as an interrogation method for Mardixu to get information before they pass on to It’s sibling, Dakir’al the life keeper and silent one. Since Dakir'al can not speak, he is unable to fully realize what happened to the souls.

The Wave Walker is the reasoning behind the largest genocide in Kyseer and Alliance history. The Shadow weavers uprising, spurred on by the god Mardixu, destroyed the largest Kyseer City, Kash-kehen and in the process killing off every human being but the young that were hidden by the Zaffii warriors and their light weaving.

Shadow weaving since Mardixu's uprising is now considered a mild curse, if not deformity. Most parents give their children to the Temple of Light to raise, where they can be protected. Mardixu is under the belief since he can not take 'mortal' form often that there are no longer any shadow weavers worthy of his touch or time. All shadow weavers with power past grade 5 are kept deep within the temple and are not allowed to leave.

Those children touched by the reckoning had purple marks burned into their throats. These markings turned out to be genetic and were passed to the next generation. An ever lasting mark on their society as a whole.
