A character I had for a while on 'Furryspace' MUCK and one of the more recent pieces of art I've actually sat down and taken my time with for its own sake. Yep, 2000 is 'more recent'. Haven't done a whole lot in the past half-decade. This is just pencil-work, some smudgery and a lot of off-the-cuff scribbling in a hotel room. Cloth needs a hella lot more work on folds, anatomy is off, but I do like how the eyes came out on this one.

I think its a good design. Outfit is set up well, keeps almost everything within easy reach. Pockets are also well located IMO.
The only thing I think might be the lack of folds (which you mentioned) and that the suit seems a bit on the thick side. But, both (at least to me) suggests that the outfit is a partial pressure suit. Might try looking at those and NASA's bright orange suit used on the shuttle.

It's meant to be a somewhat thick (insulated) partial-pressure suit, you got it on the first guess. Still think there should have been more folds at the 'joints'. She'll wear heavier gear over it as needed, but in an emergency those three cannisters on the thigh are part of a rebreather setup (One cannister can be changed out at a time with one backup and one in use.).
Wahs are fun creatures, so are binturongs who have a somewhat similar ecological niche. It used to be pretty unusual to see rare critters like that illustrated anthropomorphically. One neat thing about how huge the fandom has grown is that people are going further and further from the 'generic' critters and drawing niftier and rare species and bringing attention to them.
And while I often drew females and males with 'arty' proportions, I rather like folks with a little more meat and padding on them. It's healthier (up to a point, yeah, I'm not talking obese, just not bulemic either), and to me it is far more appealing than the bubble-built siliconoids that the advertising world tries to say are the standard of beauty.

Occasionally I go overboard on tail-floofiness.
I get the impression red pandas have become a lot more common in the past few years.
Ringtails are the new black. ;)
Glad you like the details, I personally felt it was under-detailed and if I re-visit her, it'll certainly be more detailed. She had several spacesuits for different tasks, though, so I have a very clear, solid picture in my head of what I should have taken the time to add.

Glad you enjoyed it, and great to hear from you. I do have some other ideas for sketches with her...hell, there are several stories I could tell with her, but first I have to get my hand-brain coordination back well enough to draw things in reasonable time in stead of over a period of weeks.
I'll work on that, you bet.
