Nice work. This is my favorite Iron Maiden song aside from Fear of the Dark. (Iron Maiden is one of the only metal bands I like. I'm more into classic rock, punk, and a bit of alt/grunge.)

I couldn't even pick a favourite haha. They're hands down my favourite band. I picked this song because it lent itself nicely to being downtuned XD

I think I was a curse on them ;) Saw them live (long ago!) with Wolfbane supporting, then Bruce quits for an AWFUL solo career and Blaze Bailey takes over (No Prayer) being the first album with him as lead? Kinda gave up after that :)

I actually quite like a few of Bruce's solo songs haha XD I have to admit, though I have the two albums Blaze did with Maiden they are my least played of their catalogue. I love all of the stuff they've done since Bruce rejoined in 1999.

I must say, when I saw the title, I thought "this is a risky one" seeing how huge the Maiden is (I mean, seriously, I've never talked to a metalhead who isn't absolutely in love with these guys.)

Then I listened to it...
WOW!! Mr. Wolf, this is... Phenomenal!! Beautiful, powerful, just... All out freakin' awesome! The guitarwork is just amazing, and the entire song is a huge energy trip. This is a fantastic cover of a fantastic song. I just... Loss of words, man, that's all I can say. Words at this point can't do justice to how amazing this turned out!! Loved it!

I tend to avoid covers because of this, particularly Maiden because I know covers of these songs can really annoy die-hard fans (myself being one of them haha).

Oh hey! So I was just chilling at work today with my metal brother (my first metal brother, to be specific... The guy who actually got me into metal...) and we were talking about, well, metal XD So we got on the conversation of Iron Maiden, and I brought up your cover here. He is an absolutely enormous fan of the Maiden, and was interested to hear someone else's take on them, so he gave it a listen. He is always extremely harsh and brutal about everything, but he's always honest, and isn't afraid to hurt feelings, so compliments and the like are usually extremely rare with him...
Anyways... He got to listening to this, and he was extremely impressed! I mean, he was thrown off at first when he didn't hear the vocals, but he said he was really impressed with the guitarwork. He also said he really liked how you didn't just try to cover the song, but instead how you went and added your own unique touches to it, and he really liked how the guitar solos weren't just rehashes over and over, and they had really nice, interesting variety to them. After finishing up the song, he was reallllly impressed, super silent for a couple minutes... Then he unleashed this mass of praise, before throwing my phone at my face... XD

Yeah... The most critical, brutaly honest guy I know absolutely loved this cover, man! Just thought I should let you know :)

Being a huuuge fan of Maiden myself I get where he's coming from when listening to covers, I'm super critical of other people's take on them (if you've ever heard the CD Maiden Heaven, it's a load of big bands like Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Dream Theater, Machine Head etc covering Maiden and I liked ONE cover on the whole CD and it was by Fightstar, a band I really dislike).

Hahaha glad he liked the solos, I hate learning other people's solos so I preferred to just do my own, takes less time and I don't get as frustrated ;)

Thank you very much! I tend to avoid covers like the plague, I don't particularly enjoy playing other people's songs and I don't want to piss of people who are fans of the originals. I hate hearing a bad cover, hence why I try to avoid them XD

Absolutely fantastic guitar tone, and a great more power metallish version of the song! I've been attempting to learn the guitar sufficiently to produce something like this for a long time :)

I did this for a bit of fun a while back and if I do a cover (which I don't generally like doing) I tend to try and make it a little different to the original if I feel I can get away with it. This song lends itself nicely to some tweaking and downtuning, which is why I chose it.
