This is a revision of my first drawing of Summer Saltimbankova the Gymnastic Arcanine. I wanted to make her look like she popped straight out of the Pokemon anime. I had originally intended for that kind of style.

I don't think anyone here has an idea like the one that manifested this piece: What if there was an Arcanine who was part of the PokeCombat Academy Gymnastics Team? Yep, that's right. I'm jumping the PCA bandwagon with this picture.

Anyhoo, meet Summer Stoyevna Saltimbankova. She was born into a family of polymathic savants who had become extremely wealthy from using their talents. Her Arcanine father, Ron Saltimbankov, was a brilliant accountant, artist, mechanic, trumpet player, marathon man, and superstar lead singer for a funk rock band called The Fire Blasts. Her Mightyena mother, Dakota Mazumbiqua Saltimbankova, was a top of the line gymnast, graceful diver, enduring triathlete and swimmer, compelling ocarina player and vocalist, outstanding Wicca practitioner, and dastardly thrillseeker. She also has a twin brother named Alastair, whom she loved very much ever since they were both young Growlithes. Summer and her brother became interested in their parents' multitalented personalities and it was not long before they both became polymathic savants just like them. Summer gained exceptional skill and talent in gymnastics, singing, duduk playing, track and field, cheerleading, freerunning, dancing, martial arts, and many more. Whatever Summer loved to do, Alastair did too. Summer is now a happy 18-year-old Senior at PCA. She gained much respect from her peers, especially male ones who demeaningly gave her the nickname "Summersault" because of how hot she looked performing gymnastics and cheerleading.

I am really happy I did this picture. This very image has been floating around in my subconscious for over a year and yet I had no desire to draw it. That was until last night after I had come back from seeing Superman on the silver screen for the second time, this time with my grandmother. Being a man who thinks women wearing pelvis-hugging garments are hot, and also with Arcanine being my favorite Pokemon, I guess something switched on inside me and I just had to draw.
