New Character Get: Blake Derenroc
New character that I've been working on for about 2 or 3 weeks in between commissions and stuff.
He was fun to design, but a bitch to color, what with trying to figure out what colors I wanted him to be. I had an idea, but I didn't know exactly what I was looking for, and after fiddling around, I found something I liked.
Anyway, I wanted another character like Jason, the whole mammal/reptile thing really appeals to me, so I decided to make Blake.
What can I say about him? Well, he's a pretty chill dude, down to earth, quiet, but social when he wants to be or it's called for, loyal, and perhaps playful when the mood strikes him.
He's also a dahmpir; a human/vampire hybrid. However, he's mostly human with some vampiric traits; such traits being the fangs (retractable even) red eyes, (he wears contacts to hide them when he's out in public). He's also stronger than a mortal, but not as strong as a pure blooded vampire. As far as he's concerned, he doesn't know how to use hypnosis, and he definitely knows he can't transform into anything.
And due to his vampiric heritage, his pulse is pretty low, so it'd be hard to locate it should it be necessary. And because of his low blood pressure, he gets cold pretty easily, so he's really not a fan of the colder weather when it comes around.
Since he's more human then vamp, his regenerative abilities are pretty lackluster. He can't heal automatically. Only way he could heal was if he drank blood. And while I'm on that, he only drinks blood once a month, it still being a necessity to him.
Aaaand now I'm sort of just rambling now, so I'll just end what I've said here.
So yeah, this is my new dude guy. If you have any questions about him, don't

Also, also, the cat demon looking guy is his boyfriend, but I'm not against drawing Blake with other dudes when I feel like drawing porn, and whenever I get around to drawing him in such situations. :B

Oh, they're very much dead, just like in most vampires in tv shows/movies, but, really, vampires are walking contradictions. They can talk, walk around and even have sex, yet all of their organs and what not don't work, what? So! I just do what they do. All of my vampires are dead, but they can still get it up for sex. Except for Blake here, who's more human, so he's alive, his pulse is just very low.
Oh, I know, I'm not the first in anything, never have been, never will! But I was just explaining to Auron that in other stories vamps are still able to function despite being undead, hence why I said walking contradictions. XD
Actually, the reptilian side is non existent. In my world my anthros just have the looks of animals, they're all human beings. So they don't have animal instincts or anything like that, and refer to each other as man and woman, not species. :) My werewolves are a little different, they do have animal instincts, what with being, you know, werewolves. Haha.

Wow! I really like his design. He is such a total beefcake! I like it whenever you introduce another new character! I hope you draw more of Blake because he's very easy on the eyes. I was going to ask if he and Jesse had ever crossed paths, but I'm not sure which story he falls under. So his not from either of the two you have already established thus far?
Thanks! I'm glad you like him. I had fun designing him. And I do plan to draw more of him. Anyway, to answer your question, both Jesse and Blake are in their own story lines, so them crossing paths is very unlikely. Jesse is in the story line titled "Twice Bitten", while Blake is in a story that is untitled at the moment.
Well, that's great news! I'm glad to hear that we will see more of him in the future. It's okay if they don't ever meet each other, I just thought it would be cool to see that happen if it were possible. I'm glad to understand more about your storylines. It's good that you have those links on your home page. Those profile pages make it easier to understand what to expect.
