A piece I wrote while listening to pipe organs
Fingers alight upon the keys
Hammering, yet soft and moving with ease.
Light'ning flash and thunder doth roll,
As discord and melody take their toll.
Tune is dark like night and death
Yet soft and gentle, like dyings last breath.
Throwing head back, the organist wails
As tempo increases and sanity fails.
The organ bellows as storm grows grave,
The organist continues, stalwart and brave.
With one final cry he finish'd his piece
And slumped o'er dead as soul did release.
The storm raged on as candles snuffed out.
The organ now as quiet as player, devout.
